Review by Ex-loyal patron for Empire Asian Buffet

Terrible now... Has always been a fun-affordable tradition going there for years since it opened, whenever family or friends come and visit, or we locals just needed a seafood-Chinese food fix lol. Normally great for dinner time (lunch was never that good a choice), fun, relaxing, eat your favorites, try something new, just an overall good time. We watched several people and groups leave in front of us and wondered why. We found out when we reached the hostess podium to be seated. As we were greeted by a new, rude hostess, you see a sign that reads... NO MORE CRAB LEGS!!! Her rudeness was just the beginning; What a shocking change in atmosphere and experience last night. Accompanied by out of town family and 2 groups of friends (regular-repeat patrons also) for our fun get-to-gether dinner, we were all shocked. Our mood immediately went from "jovial laughing, can't wait to have fun eating crab legs and various other items to, should we go elsewhere (we should have)! Straight-up honesty, here is what it was like last night: new hostess was extremely rude with comments like "you sit where I put you, you only have 8 in your group, so you can't sit at a table for ten", service was terrible, food looked/tasted old and stale because it was sitting too long without enough patrons to move it, family friend had to spit out a moldy cherry tomato, no napkins or drink refills without getting up to go ask, ice cream tubs/selections were empty, sushi bar was half empty with the response being "that's what's there for now. It is normally very busy any day you go starting at 6ish and full by 7-7:30; the restaurant was never half full the entire time we were there. Don't think this was just a bad experience or I am being spiteful posting this. I have been going there for many fun-filled years, raved about this place to friends just last week, and been a loyal, referring patron, but no more. A bad experience is now going to be the status quo there. All the remodeling they have been doing and done will be pointless, they will be closed in >2 months, or crab legs will be back... and service will have to be corrected. Now we all have to find a new, fun place to gather, this Chinese Buffet is no longer worth $12 per person, plus drinks, and tip for sub-par food, no fun-eating crab legs, rude people and terrible service.. suggestions anyone??
